Business Bay is Dubai's central mixed-use corridor, running along the Dubai Water Canal and nicknamed by local commentators the "Manhattan of the Middle East". Two decades ago the site was open desert beside a drainage channel; more than 240 towers rise here now, edged by a working waterfront promenade. Corporate executives, tech professionals and financial analysts make up much of the population, alongside couples, expatriates and some families. Days belong to offices, cafés and meetings; evenings to restaurants, rooftop lounges and canal walks.
Everyday needs sit close at hand: Choithrams, Spinneys and Carrefour Market inside or beside the tower clusters, Bay Avenue Mall for convenience retail, and Dubai Mall roughly seven minutes away. Clinics, dental practices and pharmacies operate within the district, with Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai Healthcare City about ten minutes out. No schools sit inside Business Bay itself, so families use Jumeirah English Speaking School in Al Safa, Safa British School, Hartland International School and nearby nurseries. Dubai International Airport is around 11 min by car.
